From a pure athletic stand of point of view there's no denying that Young (remember he started at Tailback for the LA Express) was better than Aikman and "3rdStringFB" said it best. Young played in a high percentage passing offense while Troy Aikman played in an old style power run offense ala Championship teams of yesteryears like the Oakland Raiders of the 70's & 80's, Redskins of the 80's & 90's, Steelers & Dolphins of the 70's, etc...
Those teams would ram the ball down your throat then threw the ball deep. My childhood memories of seeing Csonka ramming up the middle then Paul Warfield would grab a long pass. Franco Harris running that trap play over and over then Swann and Stallworth would happened. For the Raiders it was Banaszka, van Eeghan, Davis running behind HOF Shell and Upshaw then Cliff Branch & Dave Casper would grab a long pass.
