For the Dallas Cowboys, number 23 hasn't been quite as famous. Of those to don the number, Tashard Choice is my pick for the best.
Choice was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft, and saw quite a bit of time on the field in his rookie season with the Cowboys. He got three starts and played in 16 games for the Cowboys, rushing for 472 yards and two touchdowns. Choice also caught 21 passes for 185 yards.
In his sophomore campaign, playing primarily behind Felix Jones and Marian Barber, Choice's rushing attempts would actually decrease. With 64 rushes, he notched 349 yards and found the end zone three times.
The 2010 season would see his rushing attempts tick up slightly, but his yards per carry decrease. He remained with three touchdowns, and his receiving attempts were nearly flat.
In 2011, the Cowboys had drafted DeMarco Murray, and also had undrafted rookie Phillip Tanner on their squad. Although Choice did have 28 carries for the team that season, he was eventually waived. He would finish is Dallas career with 250 carries for 1,139 yards and 8 touchdowns.
