Number 50 has been retired by the New York Giants in honor of Pro Football Hall of Famer Ken Strong. Playing in an early era of the National Football League, Strong filled several different positions. Although he was dubbed a "halfback", he could really do it all.
Strong originally started out as a member of the Staten Island Stapletons, coming out of New York University. When that team folded, Strong joined the Giants. He was a four-time All-NFL selection, who excelled at rushing, receiving and kicking the football.
