Number 30 is a popular one in the NBA. Many good, no make that great, athletes to choose from as the best to ever wear the number. I'm choosing Terry Porter for reasons of athletic prowess, performance, and consistency.
Porter, taken by the Trail Blazers in the first round of the 1985 draft, became a legend in Portland,
wearing jersey number 30. Starting with his sophomore campaign, Porter rattled off eight consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 points.
After being released by Portland in 1985, Porter was quickly signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves as a free agent. After three seasons in Minnesota, Porter bounced down to Miami for a season, before winding down his NBA playing career with three seasons in San Antonio.
