This is an easy one when it comes to hockey however. As much as I'd like to name the best number 4 as my all-time favorite New Jersey Devil, Scott Stevens, I can't do it here. Number 4 IS Bobby Orr.
A 1979 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, Orr was limited to only 12 NHL seasons due to injuries. What did Orr accomplish in those 12 NHL seasons? Why, only this:
- 915 career points
- Twice led the league in points ('69-'70 and '74-'75) as a DEFENSEMAN!
- 645 career assists
- 8-time Norris Trophy winner
- 3-time Hart Trophy winner
- 2-time Conn Smythe Trophy winner
- 1966-67 Calder Trophy winner
- 6-time plus/minus league leader
- 5-time assists league leader
- 9-time All Star (8-time 1st team)
- 2-time Stanley Cup Champion
- 1974-75 Lester B. Pearson Award
Did you know.....................Bobby Orr is the youngest NHL player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame (he was 31 years old at the time of his induction)?
