NFL Athlete Number 47 - Mel Blount

Mel Blount, the longtime cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the best NFL athlete to ever wear the uniform number 47.

Blount was taken with the 53rd overall pick in the 1970 NFL draft, out of Southern University, by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He wound up playing his entire NFL career (between 1970 and 1983) with the Steelers.
