Ray Lewis, number 52, currently of the Baltimore Ravens, is the best professional athlete to wear the number. Lewis is a dominant linebacker and force on the premier defense in the NFL. He also has a really unique (and entertaining,) dance he does when entering the stadium field. Here are some of Ray's credentials:
ravens- Super Bowl MVP in 2000
- 4-time NFL tackle leader
- 7-time All-Pro
- 2-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year
- Led Ravens in tackles for 8 out of 10 years
Did you know......Ray donates a tractor-trailer load of food and personal care boxes annually to 440 of Baltimore's neediest families to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in the privacy of their homes?

Would be cool if a hard hat player like Mike Webster would get consideration for this. It's not the popular choice, but he was a 4-time Super Bowl champion and one of the NFL's best linemen ever. He was also chosen as the center on the All-Time NFL team in 2000.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt Mike Webster. Ray is way overhyped. Just because you jump on a pile at the end of a play and jump up and beat your chest doesn't constitute a tackle. IDIOT
ReplyDeleteRAY LEWIS IS NOTHING BUT A SHOW OFF WHO HAS NO SKILL TO BE SHOWING OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO WHAT DOES THAT LEAVE HIM AS, A BUM WITH NO TALENT.
ReplyDeleteIron Mike Webster is clearly the best player ever to wear number 52. He is also the most under-rated man ever to play professional football. I admire Jack Lambert and Mean Joe just as much as anyone, but Webster was the heart of that team. The only thing that surpasses the greatness of his career, is the sadness of his personal life after football.

ReplyDeleteRay Lewis is clearly the most prolific #52 ever. When you think of great linebackers, you think Lawrence Taylor, you think of Mike Singletary, you think of Dick Butkus and you THINK OF RAY LEWIS! 2000 Ravens Championship D was lead by who? RAY LEWIS! Iron Mike Webster gets huge props but he still doesn't come close to RAY LEWIS!
ReplyDeleteFor the person who called Ray an idiot...This list is about REAL sports accomplishments and not personal feelings. If you can't get past your own hatred, just study ALL the stats of everybody and base it off that.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who says that Ray Lewis "has no talent", knows nothing about sports and should never post anything on the internet ever again and should probably have their computerw taken away! Like him or not, the man is a beast!!
ReplyDeleteALLCAPS again! What a homer douche!
ReplyDeleteI've posted things on this site contrary to my team because I give the greatest player at that position their due.
Ray Lewis is a one man wrecking crew and I say that as a person who is not a fan of the Ravens. Don't let that Steeler homer fool you.
Ray Lewis for sure.
ReplyDeleteMy son plays Pee-Wee football and wears #52 after Ray Lewis. He has been a great role model and his truckin hits are no joke!
ReplyDeleteCLAY MATTHEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe CLAYMAKER
ReplyDeleteI think you could make a case for both Lewis and Webster, and perhaps someday Mathews Jr. I presaume.
ReplyDeleteThere should be a list that seperates offensive and defensive.
ReplyDelete@ Anthony...."role model?"
Ray lewis would never get past Mike Webster one on one
ReplyDeleteRay Lewis even said that Patrick Willis is the Leagues best Linebacker. Ahem, 52 is only a Willis Jersey. No one else.
